On Sunday 2016-05-22 at approximately 12:30 A.M., Surrey R.C.M.P. received multiple 911 calls reporting a serious motor collision at the intersection of 88th Ave., and 152nd St., Surrey, B.C. involving multiple vehicles. Members of the Surrey R.C.M.P. General Duty and Traffic Services unit attended to the scene. A Toyota 4-Runner had been westbound on 88th Ave., and was making a left turn onto 152nd St, to head southbound, when it was stuck by an Eastbound Hyundai, on the passenger side of the 4-Runner. The Hyundai, after colliding with the 4-Runner, deflected off, then struck a third vehicle that was travelling westbound on 88th Ave., Surrey, B.C. One person was deceased at the scene. 4 other persons were transported to hospital via Ambulance. A second person succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. One persons is presently in Critical condition in hospital, and the other two are in Serious but stable condition in hospital. No information is being released on the persons involved pending notification of the Next of Kin.
This incident is presently still under investigation. The intersection was closed to all traffic at the time of the collision, and is expected to reopen before approximately 10:00 A.M. on 2016-05-22
Surrey R.C.M.P. are seeking the public’s assistance and asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision, or observed the vehicles involved in the collision driving prior to the collision are asked to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers.
No additional Media Release / update will be issued in reguards to this incident until Tuesday Morning, unless there is a significant change in the condition of the persons in hospital.
