Fail to Remain at Scene of a Collision

On Saturday 2016-05-21, at approximately 9:20 A.M., Surrey R.C.M.P. received several 911 calls reporting a motor vehicle collision that had occurred on 60th Ave., and King George Blvd, Surrey, B.C. The callers advised that a Dark Coloured Chrysler Sedan had struck a light standard / pole, which fall and landed on top of the car, crushing the roof of the car in. The Chrysler Sedan then struck another vehicle. As a result of the collisions the Chrysler was badly damaged and stopped. The vehicle then drove away eastbound on 60th Ave., Surrey, B.C. Several additional calls were received reporting the vehicle travelling east, being badly damaged, possibly missing a front tire and spraying sparks as it drove.

Between the calls coming in from concerned citizens, plus the marks and debris left by the vehicle it was located in an alley near the intersection of 138A and 60th Ave., Surrey, B.C. Members of the Surrey R.C.M.P. located the driver with the vehicle, and the driver was taken into custody. Alcohol is believed to be a factor in this collision. The matter is still under investigation

Surrey R.C.M.P. are seeking the Public’s assistance and asking anyone that may have witnessed the collision, or observed the vehicle driving either before or after the collision are asked to call the Surrey R.C.M.P. at 604-599-0502 or to call Crime Stoppers.
