Abbotsford Police are looking for three people they say helped a 26-year-old woman who was the victim of a ‘heinous” daylight assault on June 26.
Police have arrested a 30-year-old man they say is well known to them. They also say there is no risk to the public. The victim and suspect knew each other.
Const. Ian MacDonald describes the assault as “serious” and “heinous.”
He’s asking for the public’s help in identifying the three Good Samaritans who came to the woman’s aid to thank them for their assistance and to see whether they might help further the investigation.
“They definitely did a good thing,” he said.
MacDonald says a man and woman in their 50s or 60s in an SUV provided the victim with food and beverages after finding her outside a hotel in the 32000 block of Marshall Road.
Another man, also in his 50s or 60s, subsequently gave the victim a ride home in his four-door sedan.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Abbotsford Police Department at 604-859-5225 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
