One dead, 2 injured in Plaza of Nations stabbings

Vancouver police say a 25-year-old man is dead and two others are injured after an incident involving multiple stabbings at the Plaza of Nations early Tuesday morning.

Cont. Brian Montague said one of the injured victims is in “very serious” condition and is undergoing surgery at Vancouver General Hospital. The other victim suffered less serious injuries.

More than one suspect has been taken into custody but according to Montague no one is cooperating.

It’s believed there may have been a fight between two groups. Police do not believe this is a random incident.

A large area of the Plaza of Nations remains behind police tape, dotted with a number of blue tarps and evidence markers.

This is Vancouver’s 10th homicide of the year.

The Plaza of Nations is home to the Privé Nightclub and Edgewater Casino.

The VPD is asking for witnesses to come forward.
