Missing woman Florence Leung found dead, Police confirmed. 32-year-old missing mother who was subject of an extensive search in the Vancouver area found dead. New Westminster police said Leung’s body was pulled from the waters near Bowen Island northwest of Vancouver. A post on a Facebook page dedicated to finding Leung reported on Wednesday that she was dead. It is with great sadness to tell everyone that Florence Leung has been found. Police notified husband Kim Chen and family earlier today of the discovery. We ask that everyone at the moment respect the family’s privacy and we will release more details as they become available. We thank you all for your prayers, love and support at this very difficult time,” it said.
Leung was believed to have been suffering post-partum depression after giving birth to her first child. She was receiving treatment before her disappearance on Oct. 25.
Leung was last seen in surveillance video captured in a downtown Vancouver store.
Her abandoned SUV was later discovered in Stanley Park.
Police say foul play is not suspected and the coroner has been advised.
