BC Premier invites PM Trudeau to emphasize why Trans Mountain project is important.
Premier Christy Clark says the federal government is “very close” to meeting the five conditions necessary for provincial support of the Kinder Morgan Trans Mountain pipeline expansion project.
“I have said from the very beginning that the five conditions are a path to yes,” said Clark, speaking publicly for the first time since Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced conditional approval for the project
Clark also invited Trudeau to come to B.C. to tell British Columbians in person why he supports the twinning of the 1,150 km pipeline, which will carry bitumen from the Edmonton area to the Kinder Morgan terminal along the Burrard Inlet in Burnaby.
“He needs to make that argument here,” she said on Wednesday morning in Vancouver.
“Come to our province and explain to people here as to why this project is of national importance.”
