Surrey RCMP investigating another serious stabbing on Whalley’s 135A Street A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital after Surrey Mounties received a report about a stabbing in the 10600-block of 135A Street on Saturday morning.

The victim’s condition was serious. Police say the stabbing appears to have happened during an “altercation” between two men and is suspected to have been “targeted.”

It happened at about 4:40 a.m. Police at this point have not identified a suspect and are asking witnesses or anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP Serious Crime Unit at 604-599-0502.

This latest stabbing happened a little more than a week after Troy Clysdale, 49, died after being stabbed in the neck near 135A Street and 108th Avenue. Surrey RCMP Corporal Scotty Schumann said police arrested a man fleeing from the scene. He was caught roughly one block away.

“Although the motive has yet to be confirmed, it appears this incident began as a verbal dispute which escalated to violence with a tragic outcome,” said Corporal Meghan Foster, of the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team

“This event occurred in a public place during daytime hours,” Foster noted. “We are looking to speak with more witnesses who were in the area at the time of this incident that may be able to provide valuable information to assist our investigation.”

Police do not believe Clysdale and the suspect knew each other.

A second man was also found nearby, suffering from a stab wound to his arm.

Again, police ask anyone with information to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
