Man killed after struck by a minivan in Surrey

The man was struck by a minivan heading southbound on King George Boulevard

A 66-year-old man was killed in a car accident in Surrey late Wednesday evening.

He was hit by a minivan that was travelling south in the 9500-block of King George Boulevard. The man did not appear to have been walking on a marked crosswalk.

Despite paramedics’ efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the van remained on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.

King George Boulevard was closed to traffic for a number of hours between 96 Avenue and 94A Avenue as investigators gathered evidence.
