Is that Madhuri Dixit-Nene called up Sanjay Dutt to ensure there was no discussion of their relationship in Dutt’s biopic that Rajkumar Hirani is making with Ranbir Kapoor? Though last year, Hirani had let on that he would axe all details about their past relationship from the film, a much-married mother, Dixit-Nene, reportedly called up Dutt (after years) and wanted to be sure that there was no mention of her in the film to come. The buzz is that Dutt assured her that the makers had already removed those portions. The two had starred in several films, and Dixit-Nene apparently decided to call off the relationship after the actor was arrested for his involvement in the 1993 bomb blasts case. The fallout resulted in co-producer Rishi Kapoor stepping into the lead role of “Prem Granth.” With her portion out of the script, Hirani now needs to find only two lead actresses: one for the role of Richa Sharma, Dutt’s first wife; and Maanyata, his present one. And Dixit-Nene can rest assured that her onscreen and off-screen “Saajan” does not become the “Khal-Nayak” of her life. Films in which Madhuri-Nene and Dutt co-starred Khatron Ke Khiladi (1988).
